We stand shoulder to shoulder in solidarity - to protect, to support, to empower.

The overflowing toilet that flooded the basement and happened when I wasn't awake - was my fault - but it wasn't.
The clogged sink that needed major repairs - was my fault because I rinsed my paint brushes in the sink
- but it wasn't.
The fire in the dryer that I was told didn't happen and made to feel crazy for smelling - until the repair person opened the unit to the clear remnants of a fire, was my fault
- but it wasn't.
The nurses not paying enough attention to him after I gave birth, and attending to the baby and I as the patients - was my fault
-but it wasn't.
After my sweet daughters major surgery, the nurses not getting him a bed and catering to him, instead focusing on the patient - and his subsequent mental breakdown while I was caring for her at our home was my fault
-but it wasn't.
His loss of multiple jobs was my fault,
-but it wasn't.
My abuser gaslit me into believing that so much was my fault until others stepped in, examined the evidence, and reminded me
-it wasn't .
I too wondered what it was like to live a life where the consequences of ordinary unfortunate life events, weren't blame and punishment .
I was jealous of women who lived a life free from abuse.
When I escaped, I learned that what I experienced in my marriage was not normal
-it was abuse.
It takes new experiences with safe people to heal -
and heal we shall.
As someone who has been a staunch advocate for her children in many different arenas, a preschool teacher, and a childcare provider in some facet for the majority of her adult life - I can confidently say - a Child's experience matters.
Kudos to Miss Rachel for refusing to be silenced and continually bringing attention to the children.
Children matter.
Their experiences matter.
Protecting children - matters.
Free Palestine.
We begin to heal, to tell our stories, and we are shamed for doing so as if the only way to exist after abuse is to remain silent.
Instilling fear is an abusers, and their lackeys, true weapon of choice.
Silence was my prison, conditioned to know if I spoke or dared to leave, I would face far greater harm.
An example-his attorney shouting falsely, "does she know a defamation suit has been filed against her" at an RO hearing, exposing his manipulation, a tactic employed to evoke fear.
Simply put - further abuse, by proxy.
Coercive Control is well known to intensify when a woman is able to escape her abuser.
The last thing an abuser can tolerate is the loss of power and control.
Many woman experience post separation abuse as far worse than the abuses suffered behind closed doors, prior to escape.
Abusers rewrite history.
Abusers stalk their victims, physically and online.
Abuse comes in the form of vexatious litigation.
Abuse is inflicted through outside parties when there is no longer a direct route to harm the original and intended target.
Yet, we whom are the targets continue to move forward toward safety, bravely.
The flames we must walk through, have taught us how to survive.
A place of creative safety.
Advocacy through love and art.
